Camille Thurman Quintet

“Imagine if Sarah Vaughan played saxophone like Dexter Gordon. That’s approximately the effect when singer and tenor saxophonist Camille Thurman performs.” —Downbeat Magazine

Camille Thurman is known for her creative brilliance, effortless mastery, and undeniably distinct approach to music as both a powerhouse vocalist and saxophonist. Thurman was the first woman in 30 years to tour and perform full-time internationally with the world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra as a saxophonist and woodwind doubler from 2018 to 2020. A respected leading musician, she has appeared at notable venues and festivals worldwide, including The Kennedy Center, Rose Theater, Winter Jazz Fest, and The Colbert Show. Camille has four full-length recordings as a leader to her credit and was an NAACP Image Award Nominee.
